August 2019 was indeed a challenge. Literally a month before Decorex Jhb was due to open we were invited to display a kitchen design, a process which normally takes many months of planning and preparation. We however rose to the occasion and to our surprise and absolute delight we were awarded the Studio Collection Design Award for the Best Kitchen Design. Our carefully designed kitchen showcased our Scandi-Euro minimalist style, which reveals just how much you can fit into a 6 x 3 small space and still achieve a super warm and inviting feel. The number of feet our display attracted was truly overwhelming and rewarding.
This "eclectic meets industrial" design was inspired by our client Inova Pharmaceuticals together with their landlord Orion Properties 75 and most certainly brings Office Design to a totally new level. The 2,7m high filing cabinets optimally utilises the space from a vertical perspective and the stable design sliding doors adds a totally unique look. The workstations were designed to maximise the space with carefully hidden storage units to avoid unnecessary clutter. Right up the Nordiq minimalist alley. The almost opposing modern style of the reception counter and canteen / coffee bar showcases how one can fuse a variety of styles successfully. Wouldn’t you just love to work here?
We designed a unique ceiling filler which follows throughout the entire kitchen, creating a perfectly seamless, finished look.
A clean pallet leaves room to spruce it up with any colour for a different look whenever you feel like it.
One of our favourites, the white, cement with a touch of steel blue and oak is ever so gentle on the eye.
